Toor Dall

TOOR DALL is commonly known as the Tur dal, tuvar dal or arhar dal from List of Indian Dals. These Pigeon Peas De-skinned and split Beans is the most widely-used form of the lentil amongst Indian Communities as a food supplement. When Toor Dall is combined with rice, a complete protein is gained.

In Vegetarian Indian cooking, it provides the requisite proteins for a balanced meal. The de-husked Split Beans can be cooked into dal (Thick Gravy) which is served with side dish of vegetables, rice or flat breads. The split lentil (toor dall) is slightly sweet, having nutty.

Flavour, easily digestible and absorbs flavour of other spices quickly.

The many recipes are named as Dal Tadka, Dal fry, Dal Soup, Sambhar etc.
