Argentina Wheat

Description

A rose by any other name may be a rose, however Wheat by any other name is not Wheat. Wheat is a grass that is cultivated worldwide. Globally it is the second-largest cereal crop behind Maize: the third largest being Rice. Wheat grain is a staple food used to make flour, livestock feed and as an ingredient in the brewing of Beer. Th husk can be seperated and ground into Bran. Wheat is also planted as a forage crop for livestocks and as straw.

Wheat grown in Argetina are all spring varieties. Except for the few Durum Wheat types, the general trend is that the preference for one or another variety by farmers is based on Comparative Yield. The Most Common varieties of Wheat being exported from Argentina by us are:
